If you can start the conversation with a question other than "What do you do for a living?", you will be able to get a lot more interesting conversation out of whomever it is you are talking to.
这里的other than是理解为不要问“你是干什么的?”,问点其他的问题,还是说可以问后面的问题,除此以外还可以问别的?若是第一种的话我比较困惑的是这个问题在海外算是像问其他人薪资似的不礼貌吗?谢谢老师!
