在commit的词典词义里找不到致力于...的意思，这里的committed是否不是动词，而是过去分词作形容词，由于牛津里看到了committed形容词 词义是“坚定的”。
我记得，网友此前仿佛问过该问题。还有疑问吗？目前，我给你两个解决方法：
第一个策略：把committed 当做形容词看待，意为“坚定的；忠诚的；承担义务的”，引申为“致力于”。 其使用方法是：be committed to，这是系表结构，to是介词。
第二个策略：committ 是反身动词，宾语是反身代词oneself，然后加介词to：
committ oneself to：使（自己）致力于。
我把这两个策略合二为1、committ oneself to = be committed to

英语语法有一条规则：就是“目前分词表主动；过去分词表被动”，这已经是大伙公认的规则。
然而，任何事物都有其特殊的现象和内在规律，英语亦然。在有的状况下，英语的被动语态并不表示被动，而是主动。比如：

有人或许会问：汉语中的“着装”和“坐下”，本来是主动的意思，在英语中为什么用被动形式be dressed in或be seated on？
“被动语态表主动”，这是一个非常有意思的问题，该现象的本质皆缘于反身动词跟反身代词的使用方法。主语和宾语同为一人，主语是动作的发出者，又是动作的同意者，这就出现了被动语态或过去分词表示“主动”含义的语言现象。以上列举的含有反身动词（代词）的例句，有的去掉oneself 变成被动句，意思维持不变，仍表示主动含义。除去seat和dress外，又如：
