10：1 此后，亚扪人的王去世了，他儿子哈嫩接续他作王。
And it came to pass after this， that the king of the children of Ammon died， and Hanun his son reigned1 in his stead.
10：2 大卫说，我要照哈嫩的爸爸拿辖厚待我的恩典厚待哈嫩。于是大卫差遣臣仆，为他丧父安慰他。大卫的臣仆到了亚扪人的境内。
Then said David， I will shew kindness unto Hanun the son of Nahash， as his father shewed kindness unto me. And David sent to comfort him by the hand of his servants for his father. And David's servants came into the land of the children of Ammon.
10：3 但亚扪人的首领对他们的主哈嫩说，大卫差人来安慰你，你想他是尊敬你爸爸吗。他差臣仆来不是详细查看窥探，要倾覆这城吗。
And the princes of the children of Ammon said unto Hanun their lord， Thinkest thou that David doth honour thy father， that he hath sent comforters unto thee？ hath not David rather sent his servants unto thee， to search the city， and to spy it out， and to overthrow2 it？
10：4 哈嫩便将大卫臣仆的胡须剃去一半，又割断他们下半截的衣服，使他们露出下体，打发他们回去。
Wherefore Hanun took David's servants， and shaved off the one half of their beards， and cut off their garments in the middle， even to their buttocks， and sent them away.
10：5 有人告诉大卫，他就差人去迎接他们，由于他们甚觉羞耻，告诉他们说，可以住在耶利哥，等到胡须长起再回来。
When they told it unto David， he sent to meet them， because the men were greatly ashamed： and the king said， Tarry at Jericho until your beards be grown， and then return.
10：6 亚扪人了解大卫憎恶他们，就打发人去，招募伯利合的亚兰人和琐巴的亚兰人，步兵二万，与玛迦王的人一千，陀伯人一万二千。
And when the children of Ammon saw that they stank3 before David， the children of Ammon sent and hired the Syrians of Bethrehob， and the Syrians of Zoba， twenty thousand footmen， and of king Maacah a thousand men， and of Ishtob twelve thousand men.
10：7 大卫听见了，就差派约押统带勇猛的全军出去。
And when David heard of it， he sent Joab， and all the host of the mighty4 men.
10：8 亚扪人出来，在城门前摆阵。琐巴与利合的亚兰人，陀伯人，并玛迦人，另在郊野摆阵。
And the children of Ammon came out， and put the battle in array5 at the entering in of the gate： and the Syrians of Zoba， and of Rehob， and Ishtob， and Maacah， were by themselves in the field.
10：9 约押看见敌人在他前后摆阵，就从以色列军中挑选精兵，使他们对着亚兰人摆阵。
When Joab saw that the front of the battle was against him before and behind， he chose of all the choice men of Israel， and put them in array against the Syrians：
10：10 其馀的兵交与他兄弟亚比筛，对着亚扪人摆阵。
And the rest of the people he delivered into the hand of Abishai his brother， that he might put them in array against the children of Ammon.
10：11 约押对亚比筛说，亚兰人若强过我，你就来帮助我。亚扪人若强过你，我就去帮你。
And he said， If the Syrians be too strong for me， then thou shalt help me： but if the children of Ammon be too strong for thee， then I will come and help thee.
10：12 大家都当刚强，为本国的民和神的城邑作大老公。愿耶和华凭他的意旨而行。
Be of good courage， and let us play the men for our people， and for the cities of our God： and the LORD do that which seemeth him good.
10：13 于是，约押和跟随他的人前进攻打亚兰人。亚兰人在约押面前逃跑。
And Joab drew nigh， and the people that were with him， unto the battle against the Syrians： and they fled before him.
10：14 亚扪人见亚兰人逃跑，他们也在亚比筛面前逃跑进城。约押就离开亚扪人那里，回耶路撒冷去了。
And when the children of Ammon saw that the Syrians were fled， then fled they also before Abishai， and entered into the city. So Joab returned from the children of Ammon， and came to Jerusalem.
10：15 亚兰人见自己被以色列人打败，就又聚集。
And when the Syrians saw that they were smitten6 before Israel， they gathered themselves together.
10：16 哈大底谢差遣人，将大河那边的亚兰人调来。他们到了希兰，哈大底谢的将军朔法率领他们。
And Hadarezer sent， and brought out the Syrians that were beyond the river： and they came to Helam； and Shobach the captain of the host of Hadarezer went before them.
10：17 有人告诉大卫，他就聚集以色列众人，过约旦河，来到希兰。亚兰人迎着大卫摆阵，与他打仗。
And when it was told David， he gathered all Israel together， and passed over Jordan， and came to Helam. And the Syrians set themselves in array against David， and fought with him.
10：18 亚兰人在以色列人面前逃跑。大卫杀了亚兰七百辆战车的人，四万马兵，又杀了亚兰的将军朔法。
And the Syrians fled before Israel； and David slew7 the men of seven hundred chariots of the Syrians， and forty thousand hor百度竞价推广en， and smote8 Shobach the captain of their host， who died there.
10：19 属哈大底谢的诸王见自己被以色列人打败，就与以色列人和好，归服他们。于是亚兰人不敢再帮助亚扪人了。
And when all the kings that were servants to Hadarezer saw that they were smitten before Israel， they made peace with Israel， and served them. So the Syrians feared to help the children of Ammon any more.
