一带一路（One Belt and One Road）是指丝绸的道路经济带（the Silk Road Economic Belt）和21世纪海上丝绸的道路（the 21st Century Maritime^{1 Silk Road）。习近平总书记在去年9月和十月分别提出建设一带和一路的策略构想，强调有关各国要塑造互利共赢的利益一同体（benefit community）和一同进步兴盛的命一同体（fate community）。}

一带一路是习近平担任中国最高领导人之后提出的要紧国际性合作倡议（international cooperation initiative）之一。一带一路的建设，适应了全球化趋势和各国抱团取暖、一同合作的愿望，有着好的进步前景。此次APEC北京峰会还将讨论启动亚太自由贸易区（the Free Trade Area of the Asia-Pacific），一旦与一带一路成功对接，将史无前例地将北美、西欧、东亚这三大世界经济中心连为一体，塑造世界地缘经济（geo-economy）的新格局。
