At dusk with eastern shore in view,
I stroll but know not where to go.
Tree on tree tinted1 with autumn hue2,
Hill on hill steeped in sunset glow.
The shepherd drives his herd3 homebound;
The hunter loads his horse with game.
There is no connoisseur4 around;
I can but sing of hermits5 name.
